MOCK UPS

Above is one of the stronger pieces of packaging, that I am 'ummin' and 'arrrin' over.
I really like how this packaging has folds on the surface, making it look more abstract and unusual. I also like the triangular hole in the front, so you are able to see the contents, and it's easy to pick up and go.

The bottom of the packaging is quite complicated, and I seem to keep getting one measurement wrong, so it doesn't sit properly on a flat surface!!

Above is a hexagonal piece of packaging, which I liked because when you open the lid up, it sits quite nicely on the surface. Also with this, I can experiment with the length, and can make it a bit more 'squished'. I could also add some kind of hole so you can see the insides?

This origami packaging is my favourite, and I'm thinking of using this for my final product.
Reasons for this are:
  • Looks quite unusual and abstract
  • Reminds me of a flower/plant (what I need for this project)
  • The net of this packaging is a square, that can be made to any scale
  • I've never seen it before
I want to add a space in the middle, so the customer can see inside (maybe)

Just another experiment, similar idea to the above packages, very simple to make.. but perhaps too simple and not any 'WOW' factor.

I made the origami package out of acetate to see what this would look like and how it would work. I found it very difficult to fold the acetate and after I'd managed to get the scores in the right places and folded, the shape wouldn't stay, it would just pop open again.

After talking to one of my friends in the studio, they came up with maybe using some kind of belly band. (below)
This also didn't work well, as the belly band wasn't strong enough, and I don't think it fit properly either...

Someone else has advised me on other ways to keep this pyramid shape together:
  • Using a sticker of some kind
  • A circular shaped stopper, to sit on top
