STORY BOARDS

Started to do some storyboarding on computer.. thinking of doing just 5 seconds and maybe building on them to make them longer..

 

The storyboards above are some initial ideas with the three characters I have in mind. My thinking behind it, is that they were in a band, and thats how they show their powers.. my target audience is young adults, so 18+. I'm thinking that some punky/rock music would go well this.. In my head, I have heroes/misfits kinda look in my head..

I want to show 2 powers in each ident.. showing a story of something happening in everyday life, and twist it with showing super powers.. 


I was thinking maybe to show a good power and a bad power.. one thats great and one thats naff.. wouldn't be top 10 though..

Now looking at comic books.. as they use super powers, and I like the layout of them.
After a crit, someone suggested that I should make my target audience children, as they would be more interested in this subject.. also, the characters that I have been drawing and looking at look like they are aimed more at kids.. so this is the direction I am taking..

 

 

Some of the ideas I have drawn up, I can't see how I am going to re-create them in after effects.. however, there are still quite a few ideas that can be.. I need to draw up some and keep in mind that they need to be done on after effects.. by me!

SOME BACKGROUNDS...

Experimenting with how to do the background for the idents.. some possibilities:

I'm not sure whether to keep it simple and just change the brush... maybe play about with the background colour more, keeping the lines of buildings..

OR

An actual 'cartoon' like background.. which would be more appropriate for a younger audience.. only issue is that its quite time consuming, and I'm not sure how many I will need..

AFTER EFFECTS vs SUPERPOWERS

OK.. so it isn't working like it did before.. but you can get the general idea of it.. 'super powers' is meant to fall down from the top and 'top 10' falls and bounces on top..

Below are screen grabs from after effects, showing a storyboard idea.. The background of my animations won't be a block colour, there will be more detail there.. I'm working on it.

IDENT IDEAS

My idea for promoting the TOP 10 SUPER POWERS: adding my characters, with their super powers, in an already existing ident from my chosen channels...

Got to make own ident:

Show the powers with a different object..

TARGET AUDIENCE: Children 7+
CHANNELS: CBBC, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Nickelodeon...
